Plastic cards with chips or commonly called chip cards or smart cards are gaining popularity and importance these days due to their extensive range of application. There are two kinds of plastic cards with chips. One is called contact smart cards. It has a gold plated, square, contact chip about 1 cm in size that allows reading and writing of information when inserted to a reader. These can be commonly seen in ATM and SIM cards. The other one is called contactless smart cards. These cards don’t need to be inserted to a reader as contactless cards can often process transactions even without taking them out from the wallet like in public transit system.  Both cards contain tamper proof properties in their security systems keeping information safe from unauthorized personnels.  Both plastic cards with chips are made from high quality PVC plastic.
